Kerry Kent is inspired by people, their emotions and motivations. In her previous work she explored vulnerability and how we may be diminished by our need to hide our weaknesses.
In her latest work she explores what it would be like to have no consciousness of any weakness with a flamboyant but deliberately one-dimensional character – Kitty McTitty.
Kitty is an icon who represents nothing. She is decorative. She has no message. She is imbued with nothing but glitter, middle age, dodgy wigs, dodgy hips, a desire to sing cabaret tunes, a love for pornographic novels, a social media addiction and a fat arse.
What will people make of her? Why should she care?
